I was elected to Canmore Town Council in 2007, serving until May 4, 2012, when I resigned  to seek the Mayor's seat that was vacated by the departure of previous Mayor Ron Casey.  Since joining Council, I have worked hard to ensure that Canmore, and the views of every citizen of Canmore, are understood at all levels of government!, and will continue to be your strongest advocate if re-elected.

I have represented Canmore at meetings involving both provincial and federal ministers, advocating our situation (s) in Canmore and clearly requesting assistance as needed.  This has involved conferences and issue specific meetings.

I have represented Canmore during negotiations with other municipalities.  This has included the Canmore Inter-municipal Committee, the Bow Valley Regional Housing Authority, and the Bow Valley Waste Management Commission.

I have appeared as Deputy Mayor at numerous community based functions, including graduations, conference greetings, special events, as  well as PR functions when the mayor was unavailable, and making award presentations.

I have participated in numerous fund raising events in Canmore and the Bow Valley, including the Wild Rose Hockey Challenge (for Bow Valley Victim Services) and the newly acquired disabled-access van at Bow River Lodge.

I have served on a number of committees of council, at varying levels of responsibility including:

                                                   Assessment Review Board

                                                  Business Revitalization Zone (Downtown Canmore)

                                                  Canmore Community Housing Corporation Board

Canmore Museum and Geological Society Board

                                                  Canmore Public Library Board

Community Enrichment Advisory Committee (now Community Services Advisory Committee)

                                                  Community Preparedness Committee

                                                  Inter-municipal Committee

                                                  Policing Committee

                                                  Subdivision Development Appeal Board

                                                  Wildsmart Committee

I have served on provincial boards as follows:

                                                 Bow Valley Waste Management Commission

Premier Ed Stelmach in Canmore in 2011 for the sod-turning ceremony for the Roundhouse(Canmore Daycare Centre).
